Getting to Know About my University

Hello! My name is Anastasia Agustine, currently 18 years old by the time I'm writing this article. I'm from Indonesia, and I'm a college student at President University majoring in Information Technology. Nice to meet you!

Enough with the introduction, let's get straight to the main thing,
I want to tell you about my university.

President University is a private university located in Cikarang, West Java, Indonesia. It has four faculties with 16 undergraduates programs and 2 postgraduate programs, and it's A accredited. I'll tell you what I know about PU (President University) from my experience. The hottest rumor about PU is the high-priced tuition fee. Normally, the cost per semester is around 30 million, but PU offers many kinds of scholarships. You can get up to a 100% scholarship if you apply for the Test path or Report Card. There are also scholarships based on your academic or non-academic achievements, UNBK score, and UTBK score. In my opinion, PU is a good private university, but it is not so popular compared to others, probably due to the university established later than other universities. PU also has fewer faculties and majors compared to the top universities hence fewer people who want to apply. Despite that, the teaching quality is on par with the popular universities in Indonesia.

You might wonder why I decided to choose this university. At first, I was also not interested in joining until I tried to find more about PU. PU uses English to conduct their teaching and learning process, it can help students to develop their English speaking. Many foreign students study in PU so cultural diversity is high and the students also have a high tolerance. The lecturer is also highly-skilled in teaching, the quality of their online teaching is very acceptable as the teachers have good ICT skills. Another favorable feature of PU is that they have a program that requires students to do an internship. I think it's a crucial program as students can practice and learn about real work life and it gives them job opportunities from the company that provide them the internship. I also choose PU because I'm planning to study Information Technology, and IT in this university is accredited A, so it adds more to the reason why I choose PU.

The reason I'm interested in learning about Information Technology is that I like mathematics, and IT implement it in discreet mathematics and algorithms in coding. I also consider choosing this major because IT will be one of the most used knowledge knowing that we are now entering the digital era. Most people by now would probably have digital tools like smartphones or computers, so programming related knowledge would be used often. The popularity of digital ways also opens many job opportunities that I lowkey got interested in, such as software developer or game developer.

During my first semester, I learned more about President University. My high school friends used to say that PU is not that good and many people dropped out and prefer changing their university. For me, PU is a great private university that develops its students not just academically. The lecturers are kind towards the students and their teaching quality is very good. There are unique extracurriculars that you might not found in other universities, such as golf and archery. PU also has several organizations that help students to develop their leadership and teamwork skills. Since it's in the pandemic I might not feel the real experience of studying at President University, but overall I like the online learning that I had experienced.

That is all that I wanted to share with you guys. Remember that your college institution is not the main factor that decides how successful you are, what's more important is your will to achieve your goals, and your strategy to achieve them. Thanks for visiting my blog!
